Title: What The Sleet?
Posted On: 11/8/2010 5:28:00 AM

First snow of the season on the ground when I woke up.  Even if it's just a coating, it's still the first sign of the white stuff.  Time to hunker down and get some writing down.  And of course, put the shovel on standby.

Title: Yuck
Posted On: 11/6/2010 10:52:00 AM

The dog is sick.  Fluids flying out of him like the Exorcist.  Thankfully it's not pea soup.

New Artist of the Month chosen.  ROLO!  Hell to the year!  This guy rocks.  Check out anything he does, it's beyond worth it.

Best

Title: I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Posted On: 11/5/2010 9:17:00 AM

Okay.  I've got nothing really all that interesting to say today, as I cleary have not had in over a year, but as I've shown with the recent project updates (thanks, James!) I'm going to try and take care of this site and make it a place where there are actual, REGULAR updates.

In terms of recent work, my recent gigs with Megamind and Fraggle Rock will be in stores soon, and the latest issue of Pocket God (#3) will be up at iTunes within two weeks.  Can you say DINOSAUR! ROAR!

And of course, a new DUMMY'S GUIDE is in the works as well, and I'll use this place to start showing some sneak peeks and advanced images.  I know, you're on pins and needles.

Also, I just want to congradulate Mr. Joe Eisma (two time Artist of the Month winner!) on his success with Morning Glories.  It's only the begining for this guy, so have him do a sketch for you while you still can. In fact, ask him to do something that would be really embarassing for him to draw, and then tell him I sent you.

Untl next year... Wait...

Until a day or so...

Best

Jason

Title: Let it be known...
Posted On: 6/26/2009 12:52:00 PM

That I am the worst blogger of all time.

But seriously, I swear I'll get better.  I've just been so busy with the Outlaw Entertainment launch (our first book, Praetorian, hit stores on Wednesday), and dealing with the usual to and fros of the summer months.

You can also head over to www.brokenfrontier.com to check out my weekly column Ouch That Burns, and have a look see for Imaginary Friends, which will be in stores next week... With an all new cover by Josh Howard!

I'll write again soon. I PROMISE!

Title: Checking In
Posted On: 5/6/2009 9:25:00 AM

I'm already proving to be a slack blogger, but in my defense, I've been very busy with the launch of Outlaw Entertainment and writing future material for the publisher.  I know, excuses are like assholes and everyone's got one... But if it looks like an asshole, and it sounds like an asshole, then I guess I'm an asshole. Wait... That didn't come out right.

Anyway, advance reviews of the first three Outlaw books (Praetorian, Hat Trick, and Imaginary Friends) have started to pop up, so be on the look out for those, and I'll be posting review exceprts in the REVIEWS section just as soon as I have enough to warrant me to go into the admin section and screw everything up for James (my web guy) to have to fix again.  Yes, tech savvy I am not.

Also, I'll be starting my old column Ouch, That Burns back up over at the newly renovated Broken Frontier, so I'll let you know when that starts up, and it will be more industry based this time instead of just random thoughts... Though there will be plent of random thoughts inside.

Other than that... I'm sure I'll stop in and say some random things here too.

April 29, 2009: Raven Venture Partners (RVP) announces the backing of an innovative new publishing company called Outlaw Entertainment. The full service creative studio will focus on producing high concept/high quality graphic novels across various genres, targeted at multiple demographics.

“As consumers continue to adapt to the ever changing world of pop culture, Outlaw Entertainment will adapt with them, whether it’s through digital or print media” stated HJ Harrison, Managing Partner of RVP. “We are looking for Outlaw Entertainment to be a leader in the comic book/graphic novel marketplace, while also serving as an elite source for intellectual property development.”

Title: Curse of the Comic Writer
Posted On: 4/23/2009 8:25:00 AM

Hello, all.  I am back in the saddle and working again following a hell of a wedding/mini moon.  It was nice to step away from writing for awhile, but it also feels good to put the pen to paper again.

I'm currently typing up the first chapter/issue of a new all ages story for my company Outlaw Entertainment.  It's a lot of fun, and should be a good book, especially with the artist we have on tap.  She will wow people.

Just to give people an idea of how the writing process works with me, I write everything in notebooks first, and then type them up after I'm done.  I used to write straight to computer, but I like the freedom of writing in a notebook first.  It also helps to limit my Web surfing when I should be working!

Curse of the Were Woman (Devil's Due) hit stores yesterday.  It's a straight comedy with a supernatural sub story, so if you're interested in checking it out, I won't stand in your way!

Title: Got Married
Posted On: 4/19/2009 8:07:00 PM

Had an incredible weekend. Married the girl of my dreams on Friday and spent the last two days relaxing and eating like a hogzilla.  Will be back into the swing of things work-wise later this week, just in time for Curse of the Were-Woman to hit stores.  The book is released by Devil's Due with art by Christopher Provencher and colors/letters by Nick Deschenes, one of the groomsmen from this weekends festivities.

Going to go have some wine and eat yet again.

Title: Getting Married
Posted On: 4/16/2009 11:53:00 AM

Hey, all.  I know this is a cop out for my first blog, but I am on my way out to get my wedding festivities underway, so I have to keep this short and sweet (like sugar!).  I just got copies of Curse of the Were-Woman in today, adn the book looks great.  I'm excited for it to finally hit the store shelves after all of the production delays, so I hope peeps enjoy it and at the very least, get a chuckle out of it.

I'll be back in a few days, in which case, I will write more of worth.  Until then... Don't pet grizzly bears!

Best
